Sally trained at the Weguelin School of Russian Ballet, a residential Ballet School in Tunbridge Wells Kent.

 At the age of 15 she passed  the Advanced 2 Classic Ballet exam with Distinction.

After completing her O levels Sally  successfully auditioned for the Bush Davies Ballet School in East Grinstead, where she spent two years studying Ballet, Theatre dance and A level drama.

Sally has an exceptional record of teaching all ages and abilities, and of preparing pupils for success in performance and examination.  Sally is principal, and founder of the school and as well as teaching oversees all classes and teacher training.

Sally has a fellowship with the NATD Classic Ballet (Russian Method) branch and is an NATD Classic Ballet examiner.


ANATD ARAD BA (Educ), Dip Tchg

Charlotte grew up in New Zealand and did her ballet training with Deirdre Tarrant in the RAD syllabus. She gained her Advanced Ballet Certificate in 1992 and the RAD Teachers Certificate in 1996. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, and a Post-Graduate Diploma of Teaching.


Following completion of her ballet and academic studies, Charlotte worked as a dancer in New Zealand and Australia, in classical ballet, contemporary dance and musical theatre productions.


She moved to the UK in 2000, where she taught adult beginner ballet lessons in London, alongside her day-job as a secondary school performing arts teacher.


Since 2010 Charlotte has been a stay-at-home mum, and moved to Hitchin with her family in 2015. She recently retrained as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist with NLSSM in London, and works locally.


Charlotte started attending weekly ballet class at HSRB in early 2017. She has recently become a member of the NATD.

Ellen Tipping


From an early age Ellen trained at the Harlow Ballet School in Essex under the direction of Michael and Henrietta Branwell. 

While at Harlow she performed in full scale ballets with the Company, both as a Soloist and in the Corps de Ballet.

Performances included The Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia and The Nutcracker.

After graduating in 2003 from Bodyworks Performing Arts in Cambridge with a diploma in Professional Dance, she went on to perform all over the UK and Europe with many production companies.   Dance genres included ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap dance.

After moving to Hitchin, she trained as a Pilates instructor, and teaches many classes locally.

After she joined The Hitchin School of Russian Ballet as a dancer, Ellen took on the challenge of the vocational exams passing Intermediate Foundation with 95 marks (Distinction) Intermediate (88 Distinction) and Advanced 1 (87 Distinction)

In 2015 Ellen passed the Associate teachers exam with Distinction.
