Chelsea Ballet's 45th Anniversary Celebrations 21st/22nd July 2012

The Chelsea Ballet Company will be celebrating its 45th Anniversary with a weekend of performances, at Jacksons Lane London,

The Hitchin School of Russian Ballet will be sharing the billing.

More information concerning ticket prices and programme will be available later.

Sally studied at the Weguelin School of Russian Ballet. A residential ballet school in Tunbridge wells. Here she studied Russian Ballet under the direction of Miss Catherine Weguelin, and the Russian dancer Valentin Prorwitsch.

At 15, she successfully auditioned for the Bush Davies Ballet School, which was considered one of the best and most respected residential ballet schools of that time.

After leaving Bush Davies School, she had a successful career dancing in film, television, and Theatre.

Kirsty Sewell (ANATD)

Kirsty trained at the Janet Marshal School of dance in Cheltenham from the age of 7 and at the age of 17 successfully auditioned for The Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. There she gained her Teaching qualifications in Drama. After leaving she had a successful career in theatre. She joined The Hitchin School of Russian Ballet in 2008.

THE HITCHIN SCHOOL

OF

RUSSIAN BALLET

offers classical ballet classes for:

•Children from age two and a half years up to Advanced level

•Adults who would like to retrain

•Adult beginners.

Examinations are held twice a year and examiners from the NATD (National association of Teachers of Dance Russian Method) come to examine the pupils. Children are encouraged to take exams but are not compulsory.

Adults are also entered for exams when ready, although this is optional.

The teachings of Agrippina Vagonova are followed.

We also put on a production at Christmas every other year

Adult Class Descriptions

Beginners Ballet

' This class is for anyone interested in acquiring basic skills in classical ballet, in a friendly, supportive environment. No previous experience is needed'

Improvers

'Suitable for students with basic skills in ballet who wish

to improve their technique, or for those returning to ballet after a long break from training'

Adult Ballet

'Suitable for those with good skills and understanding of classical technique.

Advanced

'For students with ballet training to a high standard and a good

level of fitness. Pointe work and double work is taught in this class.

CLASS FEES

Class Fees Spring Term 2012

Fees will vary depending on the length of the term

Adults £71.50 (All payable in advance)

Children: 30 Minute class £47.30

45 Minute class £52 .80

1 Hour class £60 .50

New students can pay weekly for the first two weeks. Then the remaining fee will be required to secure their place.

Private lessons £35 per hour.

Uniform

Uniform

Primary Girls:

Black leotard ( short sleeved SHEREE style) pink leather shoes, pink or white ankle socks in summer, pink tights in winter. A pink, white or black woolly wraparound can also be worn in the winter, and a black lycra circular skirt

(chiffon skirt required for grade 1 and above). Please buy the correct style.

Primary Boys:

White t-shirt, black shorts in summer, black cotton leggings in winter, white socks and black shoes. A white leotard will be required for exams.

Adult Women and Senior Girls:

Black leotard, pink shoes with ribbons, pink tights, and black chiffon skirt.

Grade 3 and above will require a Character skirt black character shoes.

Adult Men and Senior Boys:

Black leggings, white t-shirt, white socks and black shoes. A white leotard will be required for exams.
